The Baltimore Aquarium
The Baltimore Aquarium is a very nice aquarium. I was a bit surprised by how small it is but if you take your time going through the various levels and everything the aquarium has to offer you can spend at least a half-day or more. When you arrive grab a sheet with the special program and talk times listed so you can plan out your day. The dolphins were the highlight for all of us.
Port Discovery Children’s Museum
The Port Discovery Children’s Museum is an easy walk from the Baltimore Harbor. It’s a great museum that offers so much for children to learn and play with. You can easily spend a full day here. Thre’s a large multi-story climbing structure, several pretend play areas such as a dinner and grocery store, and there is even a water playroom.
Watch a Baseball Game
Enjoy watching the Baltimore Orioles play at Camden Yards. The Baltimore Hilton at Camden Yard provides stadium view rooms that are perfect for those with young kids who may not make it through a full baseball game.
Parks and Spray Grounds
There is a variety of playgrounds and a splash ground around Baltimore. It’s a nice break for parents and allows kids to get their energy out.
Federal Hill Park
This playground is about a 15-minute walk from the Harbor. It has a ship-themed playground and offers views of the Harbor below.
Pierce Park in the Baltimore Harbor

Baltimore Spray Ground
Located in the Baltimore Harbor this is a fun place for kids to cool off.
Dining in Baltimore with Kids
Medieval Times
Medieval Times is a fun dinner show for families. Our children were very entertained and engaged during the show. The meal was fairly kid-friendly too. Although my son was a little thrown off by not having a spool for the soup (you drink it in a mug). The show gets everyone cheering for their team and is great for all ages.
Phillips Seafood
Budget Travel to Baltimore with Kids & Itinerary
Phillips Seafood is a Maryland staple. When we visited in our 20s my husband and I enjoyed their seafood buffet. While visiting Baltimore we first headed to Philips for their happy hour. The kids were exhausted from the Port Discovery museum and both passed out in their strollers. We headed to one of the high-top tables in the bar area and enjoyed their happy house specials.
Another day we decided to head back for dinner when the kids were awake to enjoy some of Philips’s fresh seafood. We sat outside at picnic tables with views of the harbor.
McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks Happy Hour
Budget Travel to Baltimore with Kids & Itinerary
McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks is known for having great happy hour. It is the best value you will find in any city. The Burgers and Fish tacos are definitely the best value overall as they are a meal themselves. The other appetizers are also delicious although less filling.
