Cashback Monitor
Your First Step to Shopping should be to check Cashback Monitor. Cashback monitor is a great site that compares the rewards for various shopping portals so you know which site will provide you with the best reward depending on the store you want to shop. It lists tons of shopping portals though you may only decide to join/use a few it can still help you decide which you sign up for and which to use when you want to shop online.
Amazon
Amazon is one site that rarely has cash back. They used to have some for random categories but recently it seems most have been removed.. After Checking cashback Monitor to confirm there isn’t a current offer for amazon please use this link, which is my Amazon Associate Link. it provides a small amount of reward for me which helps support this blog. Thank you.
Rakuten
Rakuten which used to be Ebates, was the first shopping portal I used regularly. It was great especially around Christmas time and I would often earn around $500 a year from it. Rakuten now offers an option to sign up for an account and earn American Express MR points instead of cash back. Learn more about how to sign up and earn MR points here. To sign up for Rakuten and earn cash back head here.
Top Cashback
I haven’t really used Top Cashback because I prefer to earn MR points but it seems to always be the highest category listed on Cashback monitor. If your looking for cash back its probably worth opening an account here.
Credit Card Shopping Portals
Some Credit Cards offer shopping portals through your credit card account. Simply log in search shopping portal and your ready to earn points in whatever “currency” your card offers. Cash monitor also includes these portals so you can still compare what portal provides the best reward before shopping.
While very limited, I like using the Chase portal whenever possible because I love Chase UR points and I know that on top of whatever I earn, they will be worth 1.5x in the portal if I choose to book travel that way.
Airline / Hotel Shopping portals
Some Airlines also have shopping portals. This is a great way to extend expiring miles as earning even a few miles often will extend the expiration of all the miles that you hold with the airline.
For those needing to earn some more miles toward companion pass with southwest, its another method to help accumulate miles. Some airlines are listed in cash back monitor so you can compare the benefits of airline portals with other options to see what’s best.
