Diggerland USA Construction Themed Park is where kids get to drive and ride in all sorts of construction vehicles on pavement and dirt, as well as a few rides. Diggerland USA is located in West Berlin, NJ. This Theme park is the best younger child and Toddler theme park in the country.
The favorite attraction being the diggers so it recommends visiting those first. There’s also a construction building high ropes course. our daughter was 5 yrs old and our son 6.5 and was a bit afraid of heights so we only made it to the second level using the steps.
Tips for visiting Diggerland USA Construction Themed Park:
- There is very little shade so its best to go when its not a heatwave. However, if you find yourself here during one they have a large building next to the food counter shack that looks like a huge garage that is full of picnic tables and air-conditioning.
- head to the diggers first they are the most popular
- Screaming Eagle is worth the additional price but if you aren’t quite sure you can purchase tickets for the same price inside the park.
Diggerland USA Height Requirements
Per Diggerland’s site: “Attractions require a minimum of 36″ to ride on, some under the assistance of a parent or legal guardian. A few require a 42″ height to participate. Children under 36″ have free admission but are limited to the playground, Barrel Train, Military Truck, and arcade. Non-participating guests over 65 years in age are also free”. Our daughter wasn’t 42” yet and enjoyed most attractions the same as her brother. There were a few attractions where our son could drive alone but still sat with us . There was one attraction our son could sit up front, and our daughter had to sit in the back with me. Both kids could drive the kids go-karts which they enjoyed.
Outside, Very little Shade but There’s a place to take a Break.
We visited Diggerland on the hottest day of the summer in the northeast. There was a large warehouse that was air-conditioned. It looked like a garage themed building. It’s air-conditioned and there a bunch of picnic tables. As we were leaving workers were outputting letters on the windows that read Air-conditioned Inside. Very thoughtful staff to make sure everyone is comfortable. It was hot and with the machines, it was hotter. I recommend not going in July or August . Even the end of June could be too hot. Its best to go at a cooler time, but we survived, and the kids didn’t mind. We had some frozen water bottles in the car we brought in.
Screaming Eagle at Diggerland USA
Both kids were tall enough the screaming eagle which is a large zip-line that you ride seated. There was a small extra fee for the screaming eagle. We didn’t buy the tickets at the entrance and was able to pay it inside the park after we convinced the kids to do it.
Diggerland USA Construction Themed Park Lunch
We purchased lunch at Diggerland. It was basic amusement park food and not great. I brought a quinoa cup for myself just in case and was glad I did as the options really weren’t appealing to me. Our son ordered pizza, our daughter chicken tenders and husband got a steak sandwich.
We really enjoyed Diggerland it’s a great bucket list trip
